In your house, do you have a pet canine that bites? Then, don’t you think, it is high time you learned how to stop dog biting. There is great threat in allowing for it to continue unchecked, just because you feel it is only nipping. Playful nipping will ultimately, turn into serious and dangerous biting.

No animal owner should have a puppy that may injure children, the guests or anybody who enters their premises. If your puppy has a biting problem then there are ways to stop dog biting. Not rectifying the issue will undoubtedly end in serious trouble.

If your pup is inclined to bite and is out unsupervised, it can bite children out on the streets, and causes serious injury, it would certainly be killed, because it is a hazardous animal, and you end up being held liable for the damage. In order to prevent things of such grievous nature happening to your friends, you and your doggy, the right thing to do is to learn the skill of puppy training biting.

Biting is a negative behavior in any pet dog, and has to be addressed when the dog is just a pup. All puppies love to chew, so to begin with, we must have an sufficient supply of chew toys around. This works a long way into hindering a young dog from mouthing anything and everything it can place its teeth around, as mouthing is the inception of all biting problems.

If your doggy was at least for a few months with its mother it would have learned along with its litter mates, how to hold back its biting tendencies. When bitten by a pup in her litter, the mother will yell. The puppy is startled and concerned by its mothers yelp, and if the pup repeats its offence, the mother would yelp louder with a snarl and starts, avoiding the biting puppy.

This is how puppies get the message that they cannot use that force with their jaws and teeth, and if even with this lesson, the puppy continues to bite its mother, she will react forcefully. Therefore the puppy learns from its mother and playmates in the social pack that biting is not an acceptable behavior.

Because we have dislodged the puppy from this original training setting, we would have to assume the role of its mother, and take steps to stop the pup biting. The technique us humans could use to implement this routine is to screech in a high-pitched voice each time the pup tries to mouth or bite us or our clothes. A wee bit of stretching the truth would help to get the point across. If the incising continues, start taking no notice the puppy after the ‘yelp’ and discontinue all playing with it The pup will soon realize that biting leads to all the fun and affection being cut short, and will realize that biting is not an acceptable behavior pattern.

Another approach to stop doggy from incising is to use a muzzle. This may appear to be a bit harsh or extreme, but it is not. A muzzle will not injure the doggy in any way. It just stops it from opening its mouth wide enough to bite anything. The doggy will soon understand why the muzzle is on and will learn. Every dog owner must keep in mind, that, a dog that bites, is certainly the most serious dog problems, which any animal owner could be plagued with. Play biting can lead to real injurious biting and steps to inhibit dog biting must be implemented before anything seriously bad takes place..
